I’ve had BBQ all over the country at some of the more well-known joints and this place is at the top of the list! The hype is real! I had enough to eat but still wanted more. Had the burnt ends and jalapeño cheddar sausage with 2 sides of mac n cheese, absolutely delicious on all fronts. 5 stars all day!

What a great BBQ joint. Many choices to choose from on the menu that is served quickly. The ribs were moist and delicious. There's lots of sauces in bottles to add to your ribs if you'd like. The mac and cheese was pretty tatsy, too! The bar area was a good size with a frost bar installed to help keep your beverages chilled. I highly recommend trying the restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

If you’re in Des Moines and craving real BBQ, Smokey D’s is the spot! We stopped by on a road trip from the Field of Dreams and ordered a tray packed with flavor. We ordered burnt ends, brisket, pulled pork, ham, ribs, and turkey, and every single bite was amazing.

The ribs were tender with a nice smoky bark, the brisket had the perfect balance of fat and smoke, and the pulled pork melted in your mouth. The burnt ends? Absolutely incredible, crispy edges and packed with flavor. Even the ham and turkey were juicy and perfectly smoked, which is tough to do!

The garlic bread was buttery and soft, perfect for soaking up all the goodness. The portions were generous, and we had plenty to share. The sauces were great as well! On top of all that, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was fun and casual. Classic BBQ joint vibes with a local flair.

This is the only place I give my business too when I'm wanting some fantastic BBQ! Prices are reasonable and the service has always been fast and efficient. The flavor of the food is always top notch and that is reflective of a business that cares about quality. They have won several BBQ contests throughout the country and I can see why!
